About Us

The Club - Background

The club has been running since 2007, to promote the ridden Standardbred as a pleasure and competition horse throughout the North Island. Throughout this time we have held many successful shows and implemented a High Points Scheme to reward our members for all their hard work throughout the season.

 

N.I.S.A., in conjunction with the Standardbred Breeders Association, helped affiliate the Standardbred breed with the Royal Agricultural Society (R.A.S.) in order to achieve extra inclusion at A&P Shows and to add status to our North Island Standardbred Championship Show. Our R.A.S. affiliation has also supported our bid to gain a section at the Horse of the Year Show, for which our North Island Championship Show is now a qualifying event.
